The Montessori Research Working Group is a group of scholars collaborating to expand the research base examining Montessori education. The purpose of this group is to further the understanding and recognition of Montessori education, particularly in connecting with mainstream education scholarship. Building on the retreats in 2015 and 2016, we wish to convene the Montessori Research Working Group in the fall of 2017 at the University of Kansas bringing together researchers with an interest in Montessori from a variety of institutions and organizations for a research retreat. This retreat would continue to make progress on an agenda of research and publications advocating for educational programming that meets the needs of the whole child.
